Minquadale Fire Company Purchases New RAD 57 Meter

On August 7th, members of the Minquadale Fire Company traveled to Odessa Fire Company to purchase their RAD 57 meters. A large thanks goes out to Dave Aber of the Odessa Fire Company whose hard work on a FEMA grant in 2009 allowed the purchase of these meters for the state and allowed fire companies to purchase them at a subsidized price. These meters will now allow fire companies to determine how much Carbon Monoxide is present in a persons body, allowing first responders to give proper care to people who may have Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. With Carbon Monoxide being the number one cause of poisoning in the United States, the Minquadale Fire Company is now better prepared to help its citizens find and diagnose a poison that is odorless, tasteless, and invisible.
