MVC Southbound I-495 and I-95 flyover - 2/14/12 - Time: 1920

The Delaware State police have said a 45-year-old Wilmington woman has died after a single-vehicle crash on I-495 on Tuesday night.

Police said Brian M. Jubb, 42, also of Wilmington, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado in the center lane of I-495 southbound. As he approached the junction of I-95 and the Del. 141 ramp near Newport, Jubb made a lane change. For an unknown reason, police said, the truck traveled into the grassy area between I-495 and Del. 141, striking a tree and overturning several times down a steep embankment before stopping in a marshy area.

A passenger was ejected from the vehicle and transported to Christiana Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 10:17 p.m.

The driver, who was properly restrained, was also transported to Christiana Hospital, where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Police said a dog in the vehicle also died. (article from www.delawareonline.com)
