Ways to Volunteer
· Firefighting – We need dedicated men and women to help protect our community’s citizens and homes by fighting fires and assisting in fire prevention.
· Administrative – Are you skilled with a computer? Are you great with numbers? Do you have special office skills? We are always looking for talented and intelligent people to help with administrative duties, from grant writing to letter writing.
· Emergency Medicine – Do you have a background in nursing or healthcare? Are you interested in the health industry and want free training in emergency medicine and emergency medical services? Minquadale Fire Company will give you the skills you need to help save lives and treat those who need help the most.
· Fundraising – Minquadale Fire Company needs your help to raise funds to keep our station equipped and functioning. Do you have ideas that can help bring in donations? There is always help needed at our annual fundraising drives, open houses, dinners and more. Bring your skills to our company and make a big difference.
· Fire Prevention and Safety Education – Not only does Minquadale Fire Company fight fires and respond to medical emergencies, we also use education to help prevent fires and accidents from starting. If you are interested in helping to educate your neighbors, friends, and children in the community then become a member and help prevent fires from starting.
· Specialized skills – Do you like to take pictures? Are you great at product design such as t-shirts and hats? Do you love to cook? Any and all skills are welcome at Minquadale Fire Company. Let us know what you love to do and we can use your skill!
· Junior Firefighter’s – Are you under the age of 18? Minquadale Fire Company offers a junior firefighter program that accepts people from 15-17 years of age as junior members. You will train and learn firefighting, rescue, and medical procedures just like a senior member. Come learn and experience what it’s like to be a firefighter. (*Only Junior members 16 years of age and up will be eligible to go to Delaware State Fire School)
